About 'Honeyboy' Edwards
Born on June 28, 1915, Edwards is one
of the last living links to Robert Johnson.
Recipient of the 2007 Handy
Award for BEST ACOUSTIC BLUES ARTIST, the Mississippi legend is an
integral part of music history and one of the last original acoustic Delta blues
players in the world.
His life has been intertwined with legends such as Robert Johnson, Charlie Patton, Big Joe Williams, Sonny
Boy Williamson, Howlin’ Wolf, Peetie Wheatstraw, Sunnyland Slim, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Big Walter, Little
Walter, Magic Sam, and Muddy Waters. Hits such as “Long Tall Woman Blues,” “Sweet Home Chicago”
and “Just Like Jesse James” showcase the artist’s Delta-drenched guitar playing, accented by his passionate
and earthy vocals.
